Post by LB »

Hi ,
Just wondering when we may start seeing some info on the little Smart cars? We are starting to see them in the shops for maintenance, etc. ?

thanking you in advance.

I just looked up a 2010 Smart ForTwo in OnDemand and there is repair, tire and maintenance information. Being a Mercedes product it is a little tougher to get information for than other manufacturers. If there is something more specific you're looking for, please let us know.

I would like to rent one. I would like to see if the so called "Smart car" will:

Use a turn signal when changing lanes.
Use a turn signal when turning a corner.
Turn on the headlamps in a pouring down rain.
When the car has been driven for more that 1 mile in the left lane, and the right lane blind spot detection device does not find an object in the right lane, the car will automatically move into the correct lane.

Do they have Winter indicated nucklehead driving outlook widget (WINDOW)....(below are the parameters)
It snows on day 1 and you go into the ditch
The next day the roads are better
On the third day it snows.
The car will activate a loud and annoying donging noise, much like the key in the car warning coming from the speakers of a GM. The maximum speed will be calculated and a governor will keep you at a safe speed. The Automated Safe Speed Protection Aft Crash Komputer (you figure this one out) will calculate the vehicle speed of the Smart Car, and compare to vehicles speed coming up behind the Smart Car. If the above mentioned Komputer detects a difference in speed greater than 10 mph the Smart Car will exit the Expressway and be taken down a back road where it is save to be.
