Very close to getting on board

Post by BedfordAutoClinic »

Good morning everyone we have been upgrading and getting ourselves up to speed ready to get on board the mobile manager train.

We like what we see we have asked questions, watched videos and have really done our homework I feel. However with that being said we would like
to be able to see a video or maybe some one give us a workflow sequence on how it goes start to finish, we have watched the videos but we would like to see the process
or hear how some of you are using the system and how many workstations and or tablets you have?

Please flood us with the necessary information to put us over the fence. We are sure its a great deal we just want to see or hear the workflow!

Two Words........ DO IT!

There are many reasons why Mobile Manager is a good choice. Here are a few...

1. Time Clock: Even if you are already using a time clock, the integrated time clock is so much easier to use. If you aren't tracking time yet, then the advantages are obvious.
2. Inspections: Automating the inspection process, whether you do it for upsell or for checklists, really speeds things up. We used to do all our inspections on paper. The ability to attach pictures and share in so many ways will blow you away.
3. Data Entry: Getting data into Manager SE isn't hard, but it can be time consuming. Imagine a brand new car with no vehicle data yet, Walk out to the car in the driveway, snap a profile picture, scan the VIN and enter a few fields and done. I average about .03 hours to complete. That's fast, almost 6 times faster than our old method.
4. Go Paperless: No need for tech worksheets. The tablets have checkboxes so techs can keep track of what they've done and which parts have been installed. They can add parts on the fly, even by scanning a barcode for entry. Attach pictures to labor lines or notes.
5. Integration with Prodemand: Need a wheel torque for the vehicle you're working on. Have it in 5 SECONDS (literally) with Mobile Manager. Wiring diagrams, TSB's, reset procedures, and all the quick stuff you need every day.

I'm a tough guy to please. I like innovation but I don't want to change the way I do things to merge it into my life. I had very few concessions to make to get this rolling. I wasn't sure the cost would equal the benefits at first, but I'm way beyond that now.

I've been posting some niggling little issues with it, but none are deal breakers; just ideas to make an already great product spectacular.

I say go for it. There's no contract so if it doesn't work out you can quit at any time. You don't see that too often and I don't think too many people quit after they see what it can do for them. Give it a few months, you'll see.

I have been using Bolt on for about 3 years now. I can't add much to what Ric said about the reasons. I can tell you that it is without a doubt the single most important addition I have ever made to my shop as far as something that increased my sale. No only that but it has saved my butt a few times to. Just had one Friday. A semi- regular customer had his Subaru in for a break down. Bad Pedal sensor. We inspected it and up-sold another $1500. Now he is one who only shows up once a year maybe even two. He was in almost exactly a year ago. Another big problem with the same maintenance issues. When he came to pick up his car Friday he started getting a little bitchy. He wanted to know why he wasn't told of the maintenance needs before. This put me on edge a little< said well you only come in once a year or so. I said let me look at your history and refresh my memory. He gladly follows. I pull up his previous invoice which has a link to the courtesy inspection we did. Then it all came flooding back. I said remember that big repair we did last year and we also recommended all this stuff also. You choose to only do the repairs and bring it back in a month for the rest. You never came back. We sent reminders and you never came. He got a sheepish look and said yes I remember now. I said well that is on you then. He laugh and agreed and all was well. I have had this happen a few times and the inspection report have really helped to that end.

Thanks for the replies and insights, glad to see we are not the only ones in the "I come once a year" club. We try to do a good job of educating the importance of coming in for simple routine oil changes, so we can get to know your car and give you heads up for budgeting purposes on repairs that are gonna be costly so they can prepare for them. Most do not understand and we have a very nice waiting area and most people in the area know of our quality and high standards not to mention being the cheapest in town on LOF's but still yet they bring the hard stuff here and the LOF's elsewhere.

When confronted with well all your fluids are low, your tires have the incorrect tire pressures and you have both ball joints worn and about to break!

The typical response is " Well it is just the quickie splash and fill " that's what they do???? Then why take it there??? they are more expensive, check nothing for your money and most of the time will miss important safety concerns on your vehicle?

We will never understand that. LOL hahaha

Thanks all for the replies

So here's a little tidbit regarding the timeclock.....

I'm pretty anal when it comes to tracking things. We've had a timeclock here since day one. Our methods changed a little, but we tracked every minute. No matter what I did, I had a hard time accounting for ALL the time we were here. I tried all sorts of things. Nothing worked. I was always missing time.

One of the reasons I went with Mobile Manager was the timeclock. I didn't expect anything to change other than increased convenience. Even though the timeclock was centrally located, you had to walk over and punch, walk back, write some stuff and etc. Not a big deal, or so I thought. What occurred was amazing. Turns out it was a big deal. Because the timeclock is with you always, your punches are more accurate. There is no downtime between jobs. You can walk into the office, drop off the keys for one job, punch out, pick up the keys to another job and punch right back in. For the first time EVER we documented over 100% technician utilization for EVERYONE. Our missing time was not an efficiency problem. It was a process problem. Mobile Manager solved that process problem and gave us more accurate data.

Signed,
