Thanks for that, I now understand.
But why enter the same part number four times to represent four different parts? That seems to be were the issue starts.
My method would be to add another digit to the number. Looking at your example BELT would be G7440, lamp - W7440.....[Second thought BELT would be B7440, lamp L7440]
If you do this, those parts can't be ordered or checked against inventory when looking parts up from catalogs. Generating your own part numbers is ill advised.

Any updates on these?

Still looking for.....

1. Duplicate part number handling
2. Fractional input of scanned parts.
3. Alternate part number handling.

Yes it is. We are in a "clean up phase" and moving through requests like this at this point. Hopefully it will be addressed in the near future during this process. I put in another note for it.

And now we have the issue with superseded parts. Looking for an update as these issues are nearly 4 years old. Really?

This is also an issue when scanning a barcode (alternate part#) not pulling the correct-current information from shopkey with updated pricing and costs. Very strange that the part # in inventory can be listed on the work order with all the wrong pricing strategies attached. The red item is the scanned tablet, blue is the manual entry from shopkey also showing the customer discount.
