Ha, ha happy New Years to all!

The foundation has been laid with the introduction of the new Workflow Manager, which is being tweaked. The time clock solution, which will interact with Workflow Manager, is slated for release mid 2020 once the software has been finalized.

The best of luck and health to all in 2020!

I think that is a bit unfair. All companies in their infancy are more responsive for many different reasons. They are small with fewer clients and the products aren't as sophisticated so responce times to clients is easier to handle. As they grow and their product is enhanced to satisfy their clients wishes it becomes harder to support and bringing on new employees and training them etc etc. the list goes on and on. On the whole Bolt-On is very responsive to our wants and needs but there are so many of us out here with different needs and only one of them. Just imagine trying to write a program to cover all those clients diferent desire within one program. I don't know if you have any experience writing code but it isn't easy and then through in many different ways shops wnt to to behave. Not an easy task. I understand way they would need to make this a stand alone package. It litterally has to be to be able to do all we want it to do. Also remember that Mitchell SE is not their only management system they have to intract with. All those other programs have different styles of code language and database structures.

Hey John, Just checking in to see if a timeclock update is anywhere in the forseeable future. It sure would be nice. We can't trust the way it's set up at all due to techs being able to edit it. The thought process is really nice.

Hope you are well.

We are currently in a long over due "Clean up" process. Catching up on requests and fixes.
I will check in and see what I can find out about the time clock function. As you probably know already, it needs to be built from the bottom up and live on it's own outside the management system. That is why it is taking so long. I get back as soon as I get an answer.

The situation is still the same. Complete time clock features are not supported by most management systems. Therefore requiring the building of a solution from the ground up and that is not currently planned.

Whoa! Are you saying that you are NOT updating the timeclock function at all? 2 years ago you said this.....
A major re-write is in the works that is going to greatly expand time clock and integrate it's functions into other shop functions as well. No ETA other then by years end.
Years end was 2018!

Honestly this is getting ridiculous. I even ask John Toy at Bolt-On about this and he had no clues what I was even talking about. I have to wonder if anything is being done at all.

A robust time clock update is planned and will also feature reports for these things.
Here is another quote made in April 2018.

Considering more than 2 years has passed and every time we inquire there is either no answer or no change, I guess we should have seen it coming, So disappointing.

I'm glad you understand, JB, but I don't think we do. For over two years you've been telling us that an updated time clock feature was in the works. You even stated that you saw a functioning beta. Now you say there is nothing? Many of us have been holding off on other avenues as we wait to see what was coming. It would be nice to know what happened. It might ease the pain of our perceived abandonment.

Yes! I second this opinion! I have to say I am very disappointed with this situation. I also have been holding off just waiting for this , in my mind promised, feature. I am literally at a loss and don't know what to think.

Re: Time clock features request

I am the messenger.

I ask the questions and share the answers that I get. Because I am not privy to the programming conversations, I don't always know much about what is happening. I find myself reticent sometimes to share what I am told due to the fact things change.

I can say that Pro Pack and other BOT software has been rewritten in a different language to make it more flexible. A big project. And to the fact that most no one noticed the change, it was successful. Workflow manager is a key piece of that rewrite and a necessary component of any time clock solution and yet I cannot give you the answer that you want. I can tell you that a clocking solution is still on the docket for development. But when is still the question.

Please note that I do put all requests and comments into the queue for development to be considered and that I do appreciate your comments.

Thanks

Whenever I need a good laugh I come back to this.....This subject is officially a 3 year old promise. I don't think they really have any intention to fix the issue.

A time clock feature would make Mitchell untouchable. I am waiting for this, and will make my decision to renew with Mitchell if this is an option at the time. If not, I will have to find a RO software that has this option.
