Bolt-On Mitchell licensing issue- Features being removed

Post by localheroes »

We received the following email (below) this morning from Bolt On and our initial reply to them also. Their suggestion of using a browser now is not much of a solution. Will wait to see what Mitchell Says about what it means with the entire Bolton product offerings and integration.

Hi Bolton - So what type of Credit we will we see? This is not a small issue for a business like us with 3 locations and Techs that use these features throughout the day on their tablets. To me this says the day is coming when Mitchell will block all of your products in interfacing with our Mitchell systems. Explain to us that will not happen please? We will be in touch with Mitchell also.

Please let us know.

Thanks

=======================

Hi Local Heroes Auto Service #2,

In keeping with our motto, “Driving Innovation in Automotive Software,” the BOLT ON team never rests in our pursuit to develop new and better ways to help your shop deliver the best customer service experience. We make it a point to communicate any changes with our software partners which could impact that commitment.

Recently, we have been unable to resolve a licensing challenge with Mitchell 1, therefore, we will need to discontinue the ProDemand and SureTrack integration. However, you will still be able to access both tools via your web browser login.

Due to these required changes, some of the functionality that you may use will soon be ending. Please be sure to inform your technicians that this change is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018.

We remain committed to providing your shop with the tools and services that you’ve come to expect from BOLT ON, so look for additional communications from our team in the coming days that will further address this matter.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to call your BOLT ON sales representative at (610) 400-1019 should you have any questions.

Sincerely,

The BOLT ON Team

Wow, this really stinks. We started with Bolton 8 months ago and continue to work through issues with the system. This was really handy but yet another thing that doens't "quite" work with bolton.

Well, The end of the world has came. Walked into the shop today and the techs were in a uproar that the button is gone and they have to go through the back way to get information. I'm hoping bolton is rethiniing this like they did the XOXO thing on the inspections. Maybe if enough people threaten to quit or quit they'll rethink it like they did the xoxo on the inspections.
