Autovitals to Mobile Manager

Post by auto check »

How well does the bolt on software monitor shop production?
We have Autovitals right now and our workflow screen easily lets us know who is working on what, how long they have been punched on to the job and if they are on time.
On the surface Autovitals is a great looking system but we are looking at switching to bolt on due to the insane amount of glitches associated with Autovitals.
- Huge delays in moving information....Constantly loses information...Features stop working for unknown reasons or lengths of time....The technicians view is confusing/inconsistant
From what I can tell bolt on is a worthwhile improvement but I am gun-shy because I don't want to hamper my ability to monitor and oversee productivity.
Anyone have problems with the workflow on bolt on?

I haven't seen Autovitals lately, but from the sounds of it they are better than Bolt-On in that regard. You can see who is punched in to which labor/Invoice and the elapsed time. You cannot see if they are 'on time'. There is a pc based workflow manager but IMO it's very lacking.

Bolt-On's workflow manager has the underpinnings of greatness but needs to be fleshed out with a lot more features and details. I do believe a major update is planned. Perhaps one of Bolt-On's ambassadors here could comment?

I'd like to see a workflow manager that provides a lot more interaction with the jobs in progress similar to what the auto vitals program does. Something that provides visual cues of phone calls and text messages with the jobs in progress, etc...there is so much more that could be added to a wish list.

My excitement is that this is going to happen hopefully by years end!

I called a couple shops using the Bolt on program and it sounds like it integrates very well. A program with less features seams better than a program with tons of features that do not consistently work. The projected Bolt On update sounds interesting and I look forward to hearing more about that. The digital shop is the only way to go. Someone just needs to build a program that keeps the process simple and does not make the job more difficult.

Update - We have made the switch to Bolt on and the results were as expected or better. Quite happy with the program and would definitely recommend it. Support is pretty much instant and it integrates perfectly.

We just recently left autovitals and their new tvpx update. Bolt on is a lot easier, faster and way more reliable. Autovitals has a lot of bells and whistles that bolt on doesn’t, but autovitals fails to work properly or reliably most of the time. You can have all the bells and whistles you want, but if your system fails to do the important stuff like send out the Dvi’s and text messages to the customers, then you have nothing. Even the techs like bolt on more. Couldn’t be happier with our move
