Show and Tell: A Missed Opportunity

Those of you with MM, you know as a technician you can perform inspections and complete labor operations with pictures. Often those pictures or inspections are sent to the customer, but not always. When they are, it's a static presentation; there's no person interacting with the customer directly.

In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we are now reviewing those pictures at the end of the transaction with the customer. Our 55 inch TV in the office is playing our own generated content all day, but with a tap of the finger a tablet can instantly cast it's screen to this monitor. We can bring up any picture and even 'draw' on the image in real time, all the while explaining what we found and what we did.

I can tell you the response as been incredible. Not only are people intrigued by the technology, but they can also know what was found and how it was corrected in a new manner. If you have MM, perhaps this is a missed opportunity for you to show your customers you care.

That is a nice idea. I have been using the computer monitor but that is hard to turn around and for them to see. I will have to see if I can adapt this. Thanks Ric. :D

We tried both the tablet and the monitor, but you're right, it hard. Looks real nice on the 55 inch. We can both walk right up to the screen while I have the tablet in my hand, making notes on the picture as I am explaining. Big impact. Lesson take away: get lots of pictures. Makes a nice story.

Another great idea Ric. My favorite way is to sit down next to the customer with tablet in hand, when they are waiting, even sending them the inspection at the same time.
