Creating a Custom Inspection

Post by a&mauto »

We have been using the digital inspections for a long time now. We have decided that we would like to create our own custom inspection. I was under the impression that my manager (who is a pro at the Bolt On software) would be able to cut and paste from some of the inspections that we have already been using and customizing. She says that she will have to start from scratch and type everything thing in line by line. There has to be an easier way.

That is not true. Creating a custom inspection is very easy. If you already have all the inspection points, then no typing will be necessary.

If you already have an inspection in your list that is mostly want you want, you can click on Duplicate to create a duplicate of that inspection to modify.

Or create a new one from scratch. Double click on an inspection to edit. As I said, if your points are already there, you simply drag the point from the RH column over to the LH column. Arrange any way you want. If you need your own point, click on the points editor button to create your own.

I've made a lot of inspections, even creating custom ones for individual employees who want things in a different order to suit their inspection process.

Thank You Ric,
By the time I made it to the front office to show her, she had it figured out. Hopefully this post will help others.

Dang Ric!

Nice job in sharing how to build those inspections!
Another option to be aware of is that any point, in the right side points window of the points editor, can be used in multiple inspections instead of duplicating the point.

Thanks again Ric!
