2009 Toyota Corolla

Post by Crescentbunny »

1NXBU40E892129945 2009 Corolla that wont decode. Is it just me or have I had a lot of these lately. It doesn't need to be said I'm sure but I REALLY REALLY can't wait for the new "every thing I need will actually decode" update to Mitchell.

I didn't try this one in Napa as I usually do but I did try it in Identifix and Alldata and it worked fine. Hmm going to try in Napa and check it again (Fifth times a charm haha)

I went straight to Google and that usually indicates if legit or not right away.

Still a mystery, I went out and quadruple rechecked the VIN on the vehicle and I've got it down right. I also can't get it to decode in Napa, but it DOES still decode in Identifix. Weird. I called the dealer to see if they could shed light on this and the VIN isn't good for them either. They have called the manufacturer and are awaiting a call back.

I usually don't contribute at this level but have decided to try to keep on top if management issues. This is something that I've tried in the past and then usually after I get all revved up and dive in decide the water is to cold or shark infested and swim to shore leaving everything a mess. Getting to the post, I ran it through World Pac and it processed fine. I don't use the Mitchell decoder but I think it's about time I started using a lot more of the items offered in Mitchell. Time to come out of my comfort zone a bit more.

So I finally got a reply from the manufacturer! The door vin tag has been mis-printed. How does that even happen? Anyone else ever run into that? It was a Z-2 misprint. I did glance at the window tag and when the first few matched I didn't even look at the rest. (Just in case the door was replaced out of a junk yard or something). Weird.
