Is there an update for 2017 model vehicles as well as a VIN decode? Thanks.

Latest version includes 2017, tech support can get your system updated, give them a call. Average wait time for support is very low.

Thanks. You would think that updates should be automatically sent to registered users.

Updates are automatically sent to users. However, this process takes time for distribution. We make manual installation options available for those that don't want to wait. You also don't need to call tech support. If you'd prefer, you can download the update for installation on your host machine here: http://www.m1faqs.com/fix/SE/7.1.7.exe

Is this a "I can do on lunch hour" update, or a "I will do it this weekend" update

It depends. If you have any XP or Vista stations still hanging around, you don't want to do it at all. (The update will again warn you if you try it)

Generally, if you're coming from a 6.x version, plan for a longer time period. There are new pre-requisites that can lengthen the install. However, if you're on 7.0.11 or higher, I'd say it can be done on the lunch hour.
