Advice For High Volume Shop

Post by JSnider2323 »

We have been using the new scheduler for two days now and I will say I like a lot of the new features however as we get into the day a few hours it becomes very difficult.

We have a four building setup:
Brake Center
Muffler/Hitch
Lube Center
Car Wash/ Detail

Our Brake Center is where we use the Scheduler because the other departments are first come first serve. In the morning at 7:30 its easy to see who has an appointment (15 to 20 cars). however after 10:00pm we have already done at least 40 cars in the other departments. the scheduler is then crazy hard to read. by the end of day its nuts and near impossible to read. The resource view does help however I wanted to see if anyone has any other suggestions for finding a persons appointment later in the day?

If I was after a specific appointment by customer name, I'd switch to Appointment tab to browse the list OR right-click on Customer to open the Search and type it in:

Does this tab ever clear? Our Appointment tab is full of 100s (maybe 1000s at this point) of "Closed" appointments. It renders it useless.

The amount of past appointments view-able is user selectable with Scheduler Options.

As we close out ROs, we move them to the top to get them out of the way. Helps for us to see what is done and what is not.

All, we're looking into re-organizing the Appointment tab in the near future as well, to divide between what's done (history), what's on for the day, and what's upcoming (future). We hope this will improve the at-a-glance usability as well.
