Scheduler update?

Post by Hardwood »

Has there been any updates to the scheduler since initial release?

This thing has been a thorn in my side ever since it was forced upon us, and I was wondering if there is an update that I can download?

Manager SE 7.0.18 did add a few important improvements as listed in the What's New in This Release file:

We have just completed the development work for SE Truck (option for SE 7.1.2) which is now available. The development team is now working on the larger Schedule changes for delivery during the first quarter of 2017.

Does 7.1.2 have all the updates of 7.0.18 as well as the CVG integration? I see it's available on M1files.

Yes. It was just placed there very recently.SE 7.1.2 is the first version that accepts the optional CVGMGR code to add medium & H/D models.

I'm showing version 7.0.11

Why haven't the workstations and server updated automatically?

How do I "push" an update to all my PC's?

Chances are your updater agent on your host is disabled or has some issue preventing it from running. You can give us a call at Tech Support to fix that. Alternatively, you can download the 7.1.2 update and run it on the host. http://www.m1faqs.com/fix/SE/7.1.2.exe . Your workstations will either get the update from the host, or download it directly if needed.

While considering updates, I'd ask that you consider tying the scheduler to the Manager, so that when a customer brings a different car in than the appointment was set for and we change vehicles, the appointment changes too...or at least let us manually do it in scheduler.

And we hope you're adding an option to VIEW the schedule in a format like we've used successfully for decades. The old view, without some cars reading vertically and some horizontally worked WAY better for many of us

Thank you - no matter what :-)

Hopefully these 3 things will be fixed in the next iteration of Scheduler:

1. When selecting a vehicle from the scheduler, the vehicle description is scrunched over to the right no matter how many times I adjust the view... As in "Chevy..........." then the model is not visible.... Customers with more than one Chevy make it difficult to always grab those little tabs and drag them to the left so that I can see WHICH Chevy..

2. Stated in a previous comment here- Allowing us to go in and change the vehicle if the customer called in with the wrong one. There is only one chance to enter a vehicle, and if you save and exit, you need to DELETE and start over.... sigh.

3. When starting a repair order from scheduler, there is NEVER a default technician attached as it does when just starting one from the "new" tab in Manager.

Hardwood,

We are making changes in several of these areas, but at least one of them you can address now. Your vehicle selection screen was set that way, and can be reverted. Shrink the Year column and probably Make, and expand the columns you've collapsed on the right.

For example, here's mine:

I do that all the time, but somehow it reverts back to the default view. Tired of beating that dead horse.

If you have a user selected in the application (shown in the bottom right corner) the settings should stay. We've also made changes in the most recent update to allow settings to be stored under the Default User, but for now the simplest solution is to set a user up and select it before modifying your views.

Thanks. I run only the default user, and in the past the settings would not "stick".

Looks like that has been addressed with the latest update.

Cool.
