Auto Color Change For RO Status?

Post by BenjaminPeterson »

Can you guys add like you do for closed ROs an auto color for when you convert a estimate into RO on the scheduler? For most people I know we don't usually convert estimates into ROs until the vehicle is on location.

I'm not sure where the color would be applied, can you help me better understand the enhancement idea?

Most people I assume are like us when we make a appointment they are in Estimate. When the customer or vehicle comes in we cover the vehicle into Repair Order. When we convert it to a RO it would be nice if the schedule reflected that so we know which vehicles have came in and which ones have not.

While the system won't apply a color, the 'Appoint' tab in the scheduler can sort appointment by record type, look for the column labeled 'Order Type'. You can even group appointments using that field.

Not sure why the system only updates some and not others. When a vehicle arrives we manually change the color on the schedule to green (Arrived). Other than that, we don't use the schedule colors other than to see who hasn't arrived yet.

What would seem ideal IMO is that the WIP and the schedule share the SAME set of statuses and update each other when one is changed. That way you CAN have color change on the Scheduler as the job progresses.

In addition to JD's suggestion, if you open the scheduled item, you can see whether it is an Estimate or an Order by the button at the top. Certainly not as convenient as a color....

When we close orders it shows in the appointment screen closed so it will update as @ricmorin said. It would be nice if it would update like that.
