Date default when printing Schedule

Post by GUTHTIRE »

We print the schedule on a daily basis. If you bring up the Schedule then click Print Preview or Print the date range defaults to, I believe, the previous date printed. There may be a reason for this that we're unaware of...if not, could it be set to default to the current day?

Hi Dan,

The explanation for this behavior is rather simple - though it may not seem like it, this is printing a report. Much like any other report, the last used date range comes up in the selector.

As Dan says above, this print request is exactly the same as if you went to Reports and selecting Schedule Report from there. The business rule is to preserve the date range from "last time". The good news is that using the handy 'Today' option in the calendar tool makes it a quick no-brainer selection.

Understood on the "Today" option and "business rule" on reports however, in this case neither makes sense. As a user of the system is mind numbing to have to do this every day. Is there any chance we can have an exception to the business rule similar to Utilities -> End of Day?

Since this would not be re-purposing the existing code to print as it does today, it's new code. I will get this recorded as an enhancement request and add it to the list for Scheduler. If/when it gets past the cost/benefit stage, a development story gets written. Please keep in mind, there are a number of stories already recorded for development consideration, each with a priority established.

Thanks for considering this.

Are the "development stories" available for the user community to review? It may be helpful to see what's in the pipeline (excluding proposed delivery timeframes).

We can confirm their existence in most cases, however they are not available for viewing as some portion of the work is confidential ahead of time.
