How to copy Security Roles from 1 location to another?

Please be advised that you cannot copy Security Roles from the Enterprise location ( if applicable) as they use a different set of Security Roles, etc.

These instructions are to copy from one location to another location:

THE EXPORT
  • Go to the location that has the Security Roles setup that you want to copy
  • Go to Setup from the Home Ribbon list
  • Click Export from the ribbon - NOT "Export to Excel"
  • Scroll all the way down the list to check box next to Security Roles
  • Click Next
  • Click Nextagain
  • Click Start
Note: Save to a location on your hard drive that will be easy to locate when importing to other location
  • Click Close
THE IMPORT
  • Go to 2nd location and click Setup from the Home Ribbon
  • Click Import from the ribbon
Search for the file that you saved to the hard drive from Export
  • Click Open
  • Click Next
  • Check box next to Security Roles
  • Click Next
  • Select option to "Overwrite with values from the import file"

  • Click Next
  • Click Start
  • Click Close
