I had to replace a fan resistor on a jeep the otherday that was only a month old so i covered it under warranty. I want to create an invoice to update the vehicle history but I don't want to pay it as an invoice showing income to the shop thus paying sales tax and income tax again.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Doing Warranty Work
Make a regular invoice showing the work performed and the enter the part with the cost entered but nothing billed. Same for the labor enter it as to the correct time but at zero billed. Then print file and post

Re: Doing Warranty Work
when you create the ticket, go into history and find oe inv. on the symptoms check off the comebsck box, enter inv #.
if you just want to update customer history, you can enter part number with 0 price.

Re: Doing Warranty Work
For cq I print a copy of the original inv and a copy of the second invoice and turn in for labor reimbursment. I give these to them when the pick up the defect

Re: Doing Warranty Work
carquest does have a labor claim policy. not to question you but did you check the amp load at the fan? seen a few blown resistors caused by high amp load.
never argue with a fool, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
