Re: VEHICLE CHANGE / SAME PLATE
The correct practice is to "delete" the plate from the old vehicle to free it up to assign to new vehicle. You can't do that from ProSpect; you need to be in a Manager SE workstation and have this vehicle record on the screen. Go to the license plate field and delete the characters so the field is BLANK. click on Exit at the bottom RH corner and when asked 'Save changes to vehicle?' answer yes. Now that license plate can be assigned to a new vehicle.
This approach preserves the history of the previous vehicle while allowing the plate to be associated to a different vehicle.
Other shops may chime in that they add a *, 0, or other character instead of deleting it altogether.

Re: VEHICLE CHANGE / SAME PLATE
We swipe to highlight the license plate, CTL+C to copy, add an _ to the end of license # and save the change. Then go to the new vehicle and CTL+V in the license field and save the change.timbre4 wrote:The correct practice is to "delete" the plate from the old vehicle to free it up to assign to new vehicle.
