Buy drum oil sell in quarts, what is buy factor?

Post by Pro User »

If I buy Engine Oil buy the drum, but I sell it to customers by the quart, what would I enter as the buy factor?

4 quarts to a gallon so 55 gallon drum would be 220 quarts. Take the cost of the drum and divide it by 220 that would be your quart cost.

This is assuming you are talking about a 55 gallon drum.

First make sure that you have checked the box " Sell fractional quantities" and have created then selected a Unit Conversion

called Buy Unit = Drum and Sell Unit = Quarts ( Drum<->Quart) on the Inventory Material Card.

The BUY Factor will be setup to reflect how many Quarts are in a 55 Gallon Drum = 220

When you hover over the Buy Factor field you will see a pop up showing: Buy Factor You are currently set to buy in "Drum" and sell in "Quart" Every single "drum" you buy contains 220 Quarts
