Purpose of "enable online catalog" button on inventory items

Post by M1EnterpriseTech »

What is the purpose of the "enable online catalog" button on inventory items?

The Online Catalog allows users to setup a Cover to Cover like catalog where Pictures and Specifications can be set

by the user, to aid with selling Features and Pictures.

It was designed with Tire Ships in mind, keep in mind it does take time to setup and more importantly to keep up to date.

Can you expand on this further? This is interesting if I'm understanding it correctly.

This is a feature built into the software where by the customer has a self-built and self-updated catalog of items ... catalog he builds would have pictures and specs about the items.

We can then tie his catalog to inventory items so that when he looks up parts in the software the description is underlined and when he click on the description, the pictures and specs in his self-built catalog will populate. Similar to how an online catalog works today.

NOTE: This is a huge undertaking and it will take a dedicated person on staff to keep this catalog updated. For example, a 50 plus store tire chain would probably need one person in their business whose full time job is to manage tire inventory and the self-built tire catalog.
