has anybody every heard of moisture getting in the ignition with, causing a layer of ice to build up on the key. Customer has to use a blow dryer on the ignition inorder
to get the car started. the car is a 2010 Chevy Cobalt -- yes we are in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and it is cold but I have never heard of anybody else ever
having this issue. Not even sure how it is possible... Any Suggestions ???????????????

I looked around here and found no mention of it. Not even on YouTube

By ignition I am assuming you me ignition lock cylinder. For that to happen it would have to be a water leak some were id say it cannot freeze with out moisture. Id have to see it for my self.

Yes that is the lock Cylinder. The worst part is it doesn't happen all the time. that's exactly what I thought is that moisture is some how getting in there but, it has been super cold here and not getting our freak rain, customer parts the car outside, so its not like it is in a heated garage. it is a baffler

Would try just replacing the cly. Have a lot of them come in with keys that will not turn some times.

We have replaced the lock cylinder twice. It has now warmed up here and I'm suspecting that it is not happening to him
at the moment because of coarse I have not heard anything - is till a puzzler

Okay just to confirm what was happening with this car is, find out after the customer kept spraying something in the ignition that would build up on the key
so the last time he came in, after a long time of searching TSB etc... Found that there was actually an issue with build up on the key, cleaned off the key(s)
and cleaned out the Ignition and the problem seems to have gone away and I took his can of goop away! No more spray for him.
