05/1990 Chev Corvette - Fuel Control Location

Post by fortknoxx »

This is my pieces sisters bucket of bolts.

Looking for the location of the fuel controller?????. It is supposed to be somewhere in the l/f fender well. If they jump to the relay the pump works. They told me there is juice from fuse, but it doesn't make it to the relay. Any suggestions would be great.

I already suggested a match in the gas tank. They didn't think it was funny. I am still chuckling.

Ditto here....just a relay and the ECM. Should be fairly straightforward....LOL!

Don't think it's anti-theft...that should deal with starter relay and injectors.

so when it's keyed up the relay isn't triggering is what i'm hearing. if the relay is powered up it will activate the pump. i believe this is a ground trigger relay so if it's being triggered with power they may be activating the power side of the relay causing it to work and they think they're triggering the action side of it. that particular relay should receive power through the ignition switch (i believe) and trigger through the ground from the pcm. you need to establish how the relay is being triggered before it can correctly be diagnosed. it may be a power supply issue or a triggering feed.

Looking at diagram it has a fuse and a fuseable link. Looks like steve is correct, pcm grounds relay for trigger. My guess is same as steve's, no pcm trigger, but check fuseable link. Wiring diagram is pretty cut and dry. Also looks like the pwr supply goes thru oil pressure switch. Bad pressure switch or no oil pressure could be issue. Goods luck.

Test the ground at the PCM and also power feeds to it . then if all are good go get another PCM The PCM controls the relay When key is swung three seconds to ground for the relay if no cranking if cranking pcm full ground to relay. if the power side of the relay is interruped the oil pressure switch will give power to run the pump if engine looses oil pressure the car will run on the pcm as long as it sees the cam turning through the distributor. SD - FC3 Port fuel control Or SD -214-A Throtle body fuel control Both great Books!
If they don't know how can they fix it!
