2002 PONTIAC SUNFIRE 2.2L

WHEN A/C IS ON AND SLOWLY ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE SURGES BADLY. GIVE IT MORE GAS AND IT GOES AWAY. NO CODES PRESENT, HIGH AND LOW PRESSURES WITHIN NORM.

ANY IDEAS?

Whats the fuel pressure reading during the surge?

Wonder if the knock sensor could be picking up a compressor or bracket noise and retarding the timing?

The extra load from the a/c sometimes magnifies another issue. Hard to say at this point givin the info we got its all  a guess.

The surge may in fact be a stumble recovery or the compressor is overworking or it may be simply overcharged. It's a stretch but if it's overcharged and fighting because of pressure when it cycles off the vehicle may surge. Another issue may be a lazy I.A.C.. Just in case it may help in investigating which 2.2 it is.

Was thinking then the miss was not bad enough to show up till under a really heavy load.. something elas is the coil being bad. Have had a a/c coil go bad and be making the coumputer to off the wall stuff.
