What have you tested? Why were the parts replaced? Was it losing spark?

Does it have good fuel pressure? What about noid? What did the lab scope patters for the sensors look like? Were they bad patterns?

fuel trim? possibly could be a temp sensor. don't let warm up p[lay a part unless the coolant fan has cycled more than once. it could be a restricted fuel filter. haw often does it die once it starts. how does it drive at highway speed?. could be a restricted iac or dirty throttle body.

Around here, no one would know what a"pop" can is. They are all "cokes", you can have a coke coke, a pepsi coke, a dr pepper coke, a grapeco coke, ect......

another ? on these vehicles, book time says 1.5 to re&re the alternator. But when you look up the repair part, you have to remove the throttle body, plenam etc., doesn't seem like 1.5 is enough time.. any suggestions or anyone run into this.

thank you as always

Well, well. We here have done enough of them that we can do it in less than that if not fastener twists off. I just did one here about 2 weeks ago in 1 hr and 5 minutes. That was without any interruptions. I know that the first ones I did it took much longer than that but once you do enough of them you can beat the book time. About like doing the timing belts and water pumps on the older 2.2L and the 2.5L in the aries, omnis, reliants, early minivans, we had that down to a science of about only 1/2 the time it said. Makes for good profit if you charge book time and can beat it. Obviously if a fastener gives a fit or the intake plenum gasket is galded fast it can take longer.

The way I do it, I go to my tool box, get the tools I need and do the job. Yes the throttle body comes off, ground strap in the back, bracket just behind the throttle body, egr tube, and alternator bracket.

Yes, actually, the first one I did took me probably 4 hours or so because of lack of experience. The more we did the better we got at it. When I take the ignition wires off the coil pack, I mark them for easier installation. Serpentine belt only gets taken off the alternator pulley, let belt on rest of pulleys. EGR tube can be a bear sometimes, especially if it has many miles on and has not been off before. I also mark vacuum lines for easier installation. Place all fasteners in small box as you remove them and keep them along with your sockets in that box. It's quite handy.
