I have 2007 Dodge Caliber sxt with 2.0 cvt trans I just put a new trans in.

Got the trans from mopar, got car up and running and found code p167a for Calibration mismatch and went diag chart found that it has to be calibration needs to be done. I have Snap-on Verus and found no way to do it unless you the sta scan tool. I need to find out is there a scan tool that will do it without the dealer? Ower dealer told my customer that there was no problem with trans but when you drive car and go to pass a car the trans starts to slip and rpm starts to jump to 5000 rpm and car stays at same speed or at times slows down then jerks hard to go foward thats why I put new trans in.

What can I do without the our local dealer?

Anytime a trans is replaced, the EEPROM needs to reset to match the TCM. This involves a TCM relearn. The relearn procedure is in OnDemand. Here is a reprint......

1. Turn the ignition to run.
2. Clear learning memory using scan tool.
3. Turn key to off/locked for 2 seconds.
4. Turn key to run and clear codes.
5. Turn key to off/locked for 2 seconds.
6. Turn key to run.
7. Wait at least 7 seconds. Read DTC's
8. If DTC's are present, there is still an issue somewhere.

Also know there is a TSB for this code setting falsely. TSB # 18-019-06. It involves reprogramming both the TCM and PCM. You'll need to be equipped for programming to accomplish that.
