2016 Ford Flex - Wearing Tires?

Post by 92zman »

We have a customer that has a 2016 ford flex and we put tires and did a alignment 14000 miles ago and now the tires are warn out. In the front there is very little tread left and worn more in the middle of tire than the rest. Tire psi is 35psi. The rears are cupped really bad. Any ideas. Read in a forum then they are bad on tires.

Have you, or the customer, tried XL tires? The Michelin Defender LTX M/S comes to mind and it's available in at least on of the sizes for a Flex (235/55R19 105H XL). It may be a bit more noisy but all depends what was on it in the past...may not notice difference at all.

Tire rotation is key, has that been done? I don't know what minimum tire psi is for this one, but lowering if possible, but yes also run XL tires if possible, and rotate very often, they are terrible.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
