2005 Ford 500 - A/C Cooling Performance
2005 Ford 500 - A/C Cooling Performance
2005 ford five hundred ac pressures at idle low side 60 psi high side 225 vent temp poor.if you increase engine speed to approx 2800 rpm pressure on low side drops to 35 psi high climbs to 300 psi & vent temp feels good.

Re: a/c cooling proformance
Welcome to the forum
What have you done so far? The first thing we do here is evac & recharge the system. Thats the only way to be sure the proper amount of refrigerant is in the system. It will also remove any air that might have been introduced into the system. If the readings end up being the same, then you might have a compressor that isnt 100% efficient any more.

Re: a/c cooling proformance
yes i have evacuated & recharged the system.the same pressure still.the cooling fans are running also if i put air over the condenser it dont change gauge readings. i believe the expansion valve is stuck in the open position or a bad compressor.i evac the system for 2 hrs.

That has a variable displacement compressor. Sounds like it's not varying anymore.

Welcome to the forum. are there any codes? i looked briefly at the spech sheet and couldn't find any rpm pressure readings. are the pressure readings the same during cold start as they are during operating temperature? i'm inclined to agree with ric about the compressor but would replace the expansion valve and check for any debris in system. what is the history on this vehicle? has it been to other shops for this issue prior to your shop? i've also been mislead by border line readings. i have a habit of physically checking low pressure line temperature. if i touch it and it's cold, i mean real cold, i look into blend door issues.
