1994 Ford Mustang - Dim Clock?

Got a 94 mustang here that when it came in the clock was not working. Replaced the clock it comes on now but is dim really dim like if it is sunny out then u cant see it.

Any ideas?

Check the inputs for dimming. A quick glance at the wiring diagram shows the Brown wire to the clock as the dimming input and the Light Blue/Red wire as the potentiometer input. Power on the Brown wire should cause the clock to dim. If you have no power there and the clock is dim, then it's stuck there and needs to be replaced. The Light Blue/Red wire varies the amount of dimming.

It was a new clock. Will check the power it is coming back this week..

It was, eh? Well, no matter. The testing is the same and I've seen hundreds of brand new defective parts. This might just make 101. LOL. Let us know what you find.

On a whim here. I've run into situations where the bulb and socket isn't included in a new dash item. I think there is a background light that does all the work and it may have not been included with the clock unit. I've run into this with console mounted window switches.
