J2534 to install a new Ford PCM?

Has anyone used a J2534 pass through programmer to install a new Ford PCM, or is this something that can only be done with the Ford IDS scan tool?

I have only used J2534 on GM products for new computer replacement or reflashing software updates....

I search online and the information is very vague, it seems as if first hand experience is hard to come by, mostly people talking about the potential but never any kind of step by step guide or showing what you can actually do. Maybe I'm just having problems finding the proper resources, anyone have any leads for me?

Thanks

Yes you can. I have done it before. Check out this link. It should answer most of your questions.

I've had it for years and it's nearly always on the list of approved devices. If it's good enough for the OEM's, then I like it. :D Plus the support from Snappy is good too. (hope I didn't jinx myself)

We have a vetronix and I don't really like it and I hate the support.
