Manager Forum

We're looking to expand our company presence in cyberspace in new directions that are meaningful to our customers; in order to make progress in the right direction(s), I believe we need to know which on line social networking destinations/tools our customers are using.

Please take a moment to indicate which destinations/tools you use on a regular basis; you may select 1-5 items. If other forums, please tell us more about that and also share any choices I missed. Thanks

My social network is confined to my wife and a few friends who understand me. Otherwise I find myself looking for bail money I do use iATN and of course this forum. I aint computer savey enough to twitter,facebook or whatever else there is. Nor do I have the time.

I think rather than "None of the Above", Mitchell should be a choice.

Where is the Mitchell option?

I figured using the Mitchell1 Shop Mgmt Forum was already a given and not voting would indicate no social net activities in addition to this.

I only use MySpace to keep an eye on my son. It's gotten to a point I don't have time for it so I've refused to even do anything with Facebook even tho it seems people are shifting that way. I use IM the most.

Had some conversations at HQ this week and I committed to informally measuring what our some of our customers use by way of a forum poll.

i also voted. you may find this shocking but i'm not a social butterfly. i spend more time chatting on mitchell than any other type of forum. why? probably because in no other forum can i complain or praise the type of work i'm in. we talk about sales calls when you're under a car and we all share the same emotions. customers complaining that a tire went flat three mos after you tune the car and wanting a new tire. as silly as that sounds it can either make or break a customer. even my wife will say i'm nuts if i look up that persons history and how they've been in the past and accually give them a tire. now if i was talking about this on any other forum or group i know that all (instead of some) would think i'm nuts. i'm taking this opportunity to thank all that belong and contribute to the forum. sometimes i feel like i'm home, not surrounded by bottomfeeders.........................................

Basically, for me, I use Mitchel forum and iatn as well as a few other good shops in our area that are on neither. That is for my business. Because I am a serious Christian and devout church member, I find myself having many other social contacts that definitely fill the need I have for relating to others. But I do feel that as social beings, we all need the input of others, even in our work.

Thanks for being interested in expanding your programs for the good of the business.

I use facebook the most. I cant stand twitter, it just seems pointless to me.
