2005 Hyundai Elantra - 2.0L Dies

Post by FOCUSEDAUTOMOTIVE »

I HAVE A 2005 ELANTRA 2.0 IN MY SHOP THE CUSTOMER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND FILTER. CAR WILL RUN FOR HOURS THEN JUST SHUT OFF LIKE TURNING OFF THE KEY, WILL NOT RESTART RIGHT AWAY, FUEL PUMP IS WORKING, CORRECT FUEL PRESSURE. HAS ANYONE RAN INTO THIS BEFORE?
THERE ARE NO CODES PRESENT IS THERE A SENSOR I SHOULD FOCUS ON?

Check the wiring where it passes thru the hanger assy. I had one a few year ago run me around till I pulled the pump and found the connector on the bottom side of the hanger overheated. Put in a new hanger (dealer only item ) and it is still going strong. And it was the same situation as yours. Customer had a new pump put in at another shop. After a week of hit and miss being stranded they brought it in to me. HTH, Jeff
