2002 BMW X5 Factory DLC Location

Post by nickscarcare »

I have a 2002 X5 here that I am trying to locate the factory 20 pin DLC connector. Mitchell is behind on this because they give a generic description, and the BMW's they do list they don't have a X5. Vehicle is 10 years old and lack of info. I can find the OBD connector, but not the factory connector. The VIN is 5UXFB33562LH35730. 4.4L
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I have a picture that shows the round connector tucked in behind the OBD connector.

Identifix says underhood, LF strut tower, not there. It is not located by the OBD2 connector. Someone told me they may have gone away with it? I was hoping to catch a BMW expert on here that could say, Yep its right there!

Well I even dropped the panel, and it is not there. Guess there are no BMW gurus out there to help. Unless this one don't have it. Guess I will have to just use the global port. :? Identifix shows it under the hood, but its not there either.

I use the OBD2 port with my auto enginuity scanner and acess all modules on the Beemers..... Do not remember seeing the older style connector on the one of these that I have had in here, but it was an 01 so not sure about the 02, but would think it would be the same....

Yes I am guessing no 20 pin connector. I got the obd2 port to work, but since I have the capability and the cables, I always try to use that port. Thanks for the replies.
