First Call Online

Post by liljoe »

I installed the new first call online button and was wondering if there was a way to have both buttons active? When I try to use the old one it says could not be logged in, is this fixable? Or do I only have one choice for the OR interface?

I'm thinking the credentials are different for each; unless they turned off the former catalog access for your old credentials you'd have both. Pretty sure FCO will become the single choice before long.

This is sill pretty new, I would expect it to improve. If there is significant overhead slowing it down, they will have to isolate what that factor is.

I'm out of the loop. There is a new first call that requires a new button? Is this something we need to switch to or will the old one continue to work? I personally think first call is the best catalog that I use and hope it's not changing too much.

This tells me how to install it, yet doesn't answer a single question I asked.......

My apologies, posting whiplash.

I have asked our O'Reilly's contact for something more concrete.

The new interface is the same that you get if you log on to first call online on the web, it is not like what the old version was. You can get your o-r store to set up your credentials so you can try it out web based version before you switch over. The biggest thing for me is the extra seconds it takes to do everything, they add up to minutes real fast.

My O'Reilly rep was in with the info on how to switch and they are giving a 5% kickback for 90 days if you do it. Reluctantly I switched. I figured I'd be forced to eventually so I might as well get used to it.

The new is way slower than Activant. IMO Activant is the best catalog out of all that I use. Hopefully O'Reilly gets this to work faster.

Our Auto Value wanted us to switch over to their new cataloging....luckily I have kept the credentials for the old button! The new version is very slow - you can't pick multiple parts areas and while the photos on the screen are nice - takes more time to load.

Time is money - I can understand this interface with consumers - but not great for shops.

Is anyone else having problems today with the new first call button? When I select parts and add them to the order it will let me click on the button to go to order but when I get to the order screen, the transfer button is not lit up and I can not transfer parts to the repair order. Been on hold with first call for about 15 mins so far and still haven't talked to anyone......

Took a while but finally got someone and this is a known issue they are working on. He set the old button back up so now I have the old and new buttons working which my local OR rep told me I couldn't do.....

I'm having the same problem. I should call just so I can use both the buttons. I'm trying to keep an open mind with the new but I haven't been impressed so far.

You can set it up your self, the username is your account number and the password is the area code and the last four numbers of your tele number.

Now I have both buttons active, I use the old one for looking up parts and the new link for the ordering screen cause it shows the local supporting stores inventory ( the best new feature of the new button to me)....

I know I love having both buttons, guy I spoke to at OR tech support said they have no plans to stop the old button before year end so we will have access to it for a while yet to give them time to make the new one better. I did notice that it seemed to be faster right up to the point I realized I couldn't transfer parts..... So maybe in the near future it will be nice to use!
