Tech Worksheet Printing

Post by gviertell »

I only see 4 possible styles to print tech worksheet. Actually only 2 types they just add or subtract hours billed. I would like to be able to print the expanded tech worksheet but have it printed a little lower on top margin as the printing that the techs need is under the edge of their clipboard. Any options?

There are no options on those reports, but maybe you could set the upper margin wider in your print preferences for that printer?

Some ideas:

Is it possible to get some additional options for tech worksheets ?

Some things that have really been a necessary thing to know which is listed on vehicle screen, but no place for my techs to put it: 4WD, AWD, FWD, RWD. This is not automatically vin decoded
and has actually gotten me in trouble when scheduling and parts ordering.

Also, color of vehicle is listed on this screen but not on tech worksheet.

Some more options would be nice to work with....some improvements have been great -- like the last 8 digits of vin bolder --- wonderful!

Just a reminder that ProPack - Report Pro also offers fully customizable tech worksheets and invoices.

* With Another Cost....Again...So to make the system work correctly between vehicle screen and tech worksheet....It will again....cost more money.

How hard can it be to add the few NECESSARY things that are already on my vehicle screen. Obviously, they were important enough to put there.

Just to be accurate, color IS on the tech worksheet. I personally consider the drive aspect to be part of the transmission, which is also on the worksheet. At my shop the techs fill out the vehicle info so they know to get this information. It's a matter of training for input. BUT, I would like to see it displayed on the worksheet as you would.

What seems easy to you and I may not necessarily be. The relationship between the tables in the database complicates things. It's generally not as easy as adding a field. I had a similar request which I made myself in the old system....not so easy in SE.

My apologies; I also received a different tech worksheet request in email about the same time as yours, that product management deemed not valuable to the masses as it was just about spacing of lines. I will submit your requests.

As Ric says vehicle color has been added to the tech worksheet. It actually took some programming to make the field available to place in the template. (I'll spare you the details)

No, sorry, the color field is not on the tech worksheet. We use the Expanded view with details.

In reference to the transmission type, I know that most people who use this program will not know by model number whether a transmission is 4WD or FWD. I do not have my
techs fill in new vehicle information.....I enter vehicles. I normally have to put a note to the side on a tech worksheet so they can circle the correct response.

Thanks for your assistance in these things, as we all have to give suggestions to get improvements. And you don't know we all are having a problem until we tell you.

We meant to say the vehicle color is on the Manager SE 6.5 worksheet:

We have recently started to use Tech Worksheets. We are using Expanded wo hours. If the estimate has more than 4 line items, lines 5 and above show up in recommendations instead of the list of jobs for the tech. How do you guys handle this?

We use the brief tech worksheets. The vehicle color does not show on our worksheets. Will they be adding this in a future update?

Hi - just got back from the workshop and looked at it again today. I have created an estimate with 5+ labor lines and more and cannot duplicate the problem (see below). Tech support should be contacted to let them have a 'look see'.
