Pin and Chip

Post by scarruther1 »

As credit cards are replaced with new Chip & Pin Cards, will there be a need for new equipment to handle transactions with X Charge?

Our cc processing unit has an add on pin pad with the chip reader. I am sure it will be available By October.

XCHARGE have made no comment on this post, so I tried calling: After 15 minutes on hold, I was put to voicemail.

My bank say new credit cards will have smart chips. They are pushing hard to sell me processing saying that after October 2015, if there are any fraudulent transactions on a non-chip/pin terminal then we are responsible?

Do we have to use XCHARGE for integrated processing with Mitchell 1?

We have just received a fully detailed document for everyone's benefit regarding upcoming changes. It is a PDF file attached below.

We have the EMV machines and technology all set up. It should rolling out in late June.

Yay June! FYI. The card must remain in the reader through out the transaction. Please remember to return the card to the customer.

Thanks Tina. I was wondering how the chip could be read by swiping. My brother works on the encryption for the CC machines. I try not to ask anything work related when we are together.

The card goes inside a slot on the pin pad about 1/3 the way in. The card constantly communicates with the host during the transaction.
