Unable to Change PO Vendor to None

Post by ricmorin »

There are times where I want a PO to have <none> as a vendor. This occurs when I want my SA to look for pricing on an inventory restock, among others. I am unable to change the PO. It reverts back as soon as I close it. Is this by design? 6.5.54

How was the PO started (Restock or ?) and at what point was a vendor selected?

We did a restock from inventory AND a PO from an order. Both will allow to change the vendor to anything BUT <none>.

Ric,

Can you establish a "fake" vendor named none to get to where you want to be?

Oh I'm sure we could find a workaround. My question was whether it was intentional by design or not.

LOL. Maybe set up a Please, Select vendor, eh?

I can create and save a restock PO *or* a Pick List style PO from a repair order with <none> as the vendor. If you start with, and stay at <none>, it works. Seems that once you have a true vendor name selected and saved, then try to revert to <none> that it appears programmatically prevented. Logic?

I'm not sure why they would want to prevent us from choosing <none>, but if that's the programming then so be it. For now I'll just create a PO from scratch when I need to do this. Just seemed odd to me to allow a change to anything but none. :?

Thanks for your help.
